The Massachusetts Workplace Mental Health Initiative was started by the Department of Public Health (DPH) in 2007 in response to the growing financial and emotion toll that untreated mental illness has on Massachusetts businesses, families, and communities. Our mission is to promote positive mental health and prevent suicides among working men and women ages 25 to 64.

As part of this initiative, DPH teamed up with CMG Associates, an employees assistance program provider based in Newton; Families for Depression Awareness, a non-profit based in Waltham; and Screening for Mental Health, a non-profit based in Wellesley. Together, this group provides a range of services including presentations, training, and tailored recommendations geared towards business owners, human resource personnel, occupational health nurses, employee assistance program staff, and other interested groups.
